Knowing that this website can never give you the full picture of Atoka's Exciting First Baptist Church, we want to give you a glimpse of the amazing things God is doing in our people, our community, and our world. But more than that, how God is shaping us from within and molding us to be more like Him.

We pray that God will spark your interest to see through our website what God is doing here and that you will learn more about us and the God we serve.

First Baptist Church of Atoka is the oldest Southern Baptist Church in Oklahoma with continous service. We were founded by J.S. Murrow on May 5th, 1869. We are part of the Atoka/Coal Baptist Association, the Southern Baptist Convention and the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma.

Our purpose is to love God and others through Jesus Christ. We are a body of believers who know that no single one of us is complete without the gift of salvation from the One that makes us whole. We strive together to be more like the Savior, Jesus Christ, and light the way for others to come to know Him. Our desire is to build a church that loves the lost and has a burning desire to see them come to know Christ personally.
